EVIDENCE OF LEARNING (include artifacts, photos, videos, drawings, sketches) |

| Today our group had a big accomplishment, and was finally able to put our project to the test. We put our Styrofoam base and spray painted balls and toothpicks and sharpies out in a public space with a small paragraph of explanation. Personally, I didn't expect it to do as well as it did. Many people contributed to it, and in addition, it stayed together. For our group, it was really a important moment that taught us that it is a feasible idea. It was a milestone that we were finally able to reach after working towards it for two and a half weeks. In addition, we made a lot of progress in our visual display for the gallery walk. We decided on using the spray painting backdrop as the backdrop for our posters, photos, and prototypes. Our posters indicate our progression of ideas and input from others throughout the intensive. |

I don't see a SEED component highlighted. Based off of what you've written here, I would suggest Social Interactions, as the contributions of people outside of our intensive were a pretty large part of our success today.
ReplyDeletePoster looks great. Nice work, Rory!
I agree with everything she said. I thought our prototype went well. However there are, in my mind, a few little things that could be fixed. Some kids we a little hesitant to help build it. Let’s try to find a solution by reviewing the tapes. But overall, I’d call it a success.
ReplyDeleteGoing off of Ashley's comment, I am seeing a big Discovery component in this comment. When we sampled the pilot version of the sculpture, we discovered that first of all, it works. Also, we discovered a bunch of aspects that need adjustments and improvements before we implement the refined product.
ReplyDeleteWe're on track to finish up our gallery walk presentation pretty soon; our next step is primarily to keep working on this presentation. I would suggest that we add some research to back up our project and also that we add our driving question to our presentation.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Michael and think that Discovery should be highlighted based on how we discovered how students would interact with it when we were not extremely optimistic about how students would react.
