| WHAT DID WE DO? WHAT'S NEW and CHANGED? (reflection and description of event / activity) |
EVIDENCE OF LEARNING (include artifacts, photos, videos, drawings, sketches) |
| Today was a really important day for our group as we continued to modify for our idea and prepare for our second presentation to Edward Clapp and the other Harvard professors. After breakfast our teachers gave us around an hour to work on our project and progress our ideas. During this time we discussed all of our different options regarding what we could do to modify and make our project better. In this time we decided that we are going to do some sort of structure that all students will be invited to add to, similar to the Reddit idea that Tim showed us. We currently have two mediums that we are still deciding on; the first is a building block similar to legos (their is a picture on the right), the second is having Styrofoam balls and using toothpicks to connect them together so that students can work together and make a structure out of them. Throughout the day we have debated which medium we should use and we are still yet to decide. After this we went on a scavenger hunt throughout and Boston, and continued to bond as a team. Overall, we were able to discuss, modify, and better our project throughout the course of today, and I personally think that today was one of our most productive in Boston. |

We were productive today! I wish photo evidence of our post-it note prototyping could be included--it seems we've had an issue getting the photo uploading to function properly. We've managed to synthesize our previously scattered ideas and develop a sharper focus. We're definitely on track! We plan to use the Fab Lab once we return to campus to begin our real prototyping before we make our real pieces. I can't wait to test this out.
ReplyDeleteToday was definitely a productive day. I was also proud of our resourcefulness during the scavenger hunt and our ability to find the different items quickly. When we return to Cleveland, we should focus on designing and prototyping a medium as quickly as possible. We can then iterate through various versions of the medium.
ReplyDeleteI would most definitely agree with my classmates. Our productivity was off the charts during our group time. I think our group found itself using synergy when developing ideas. Now it’s all about keeping that up in the coming week to bring our ideas to life. I think we are all tired but anxious to keep working.
ReplyDeleteThe environment today was very good. The change of scenery from the class room to the creative lobby of the hotel has really helped our group this past week. Moving forward, it will be nice to return back to the class room and have access to our Fab Lab.
ReplyDeleteWe look forward to be able to start prototyping when we get back to Hawken and have access to the fablab on Monday. After that we will be able to make some serious decisions regarding media and setup and placement of the sculpture.
